Spring Tease
“Winter!”
Jack called out to his wife as he sat drinking his tea on the sofa. “Winter for gods sake where are my shoes. They’ve gone walkabout.”
“They’re where you left them” called his wife from the bedroom.
“That helps” Jack shot back sarcastically.
“Well if you moved your fat arse of the sofa perhaps you might be lucky enough to find them,” came the reply
Jack smiled at the remark from Winter and mused on his relationship with the love of his life. They had been married nigh on 25 years and although they had some minor issues now and again. All in all it was a rock solid marriage. Built on loyalty and trust as all marriages should be.
All that was great, but what was greater still. Was that Spring was here and Spring meant something very different to Jack and Winter than any other season of the year.
It was the season of rebirth and renewal and more importantly than that to Winter it was the season they celebrated their love for each other in the purely physical sense. Once on a Saturday and twice on Tuesdays all through the Spring.
The rest of the year they remained celibate. It was Jack’s idea as to be honest. Spring really tired him out and he really wasn’t a physically motivated person.
Winter was an avid believer in Paganism and thought that it would be much more fun for both to have to wait until the season of renewal to renew their physical relationship as many times as possible.
Jack wasn’t so sure. But he went along with it as he loved her dearly.
Winter came down from the bedroom and looked at Jack. She looked stunning in her long white flowing sheer night dress, the Goddess Ostara, The Pagan Goddess of Spring she worshipped at this time of year would have been be honoured to see such a vision.
“Jack” she whispered softly in his ear as she sat down beside him.
“I found my shoes” replied Jack. “I’m off now, I’ll be back in a few weeks or so”
“What?” Winter said with a shocked look on her face.
“It’s the latest train spotters monthly conference up in Scotland” said Jack looking at Winter with an incredulous look “A whole two weeks worth of train spotting fun and conversation. I really can’t miss that Sweetheart. I did tell you about it.”
“Oh God Jack, but what about out Springtime celebrations” an exasperated look enveloped Winters face.
“Can we put it on hold for this year love, there’s always next year”
Winter made a strange noise as she stormed into the kitchen. A slamming of kitchen cabinets making Jack realise it was time to exit.
Just over two weeks later Jack returned from the conference smiling from ear to ear with his bag full of his precious train spotting merchandise under his arm. What a fabulous time he’d had he thought to himself.
He went to open the front door but the door opened before him. Winter stood in front of him still looking radiant in her long flowing sheer nightdress. She smiled sweetly at Jack. As a tall young man appeared behind her and took her in his arms.
His muscular tanned arms holding her tightly. He kissed her on the cheek and Jack stared dumbfounded into his perfectly blue eyes.
“what the...”
Winter looked at Jack and smiled as she caressed the man’s sculpted chest through his shirt.
“Jack, I took your advice and put Spring on hold this year, but some things just can’t wait. So meet my friend. Summer. He’s hot isn’t he”
“But...” was all Jack could say as the Door slammed in his face and his lovely Winter skipped Spring for Summer.
